Created by contemporary fine jewellery house State Property, the Singapore Tennis Open Kebaya Cup is inspired by a 1930s kebaya with intricate lacework that subtly incorporated tennis racket motifs. The design reflects a significant period when more women were embracing sport and traditional ideas of femininity were evolving, embodying grace, strength and progress. Presented at one of the world’s 18 WTA 500 tournaments, it brings a distinctive expression of Singapore’s heritage to the international stage.
