SINGAPORE, 27 September 2026 – After a thrilling nine days of competition at the Singapore Tennis Open presented by BNP Paribas, Leylah Fernandez has clinched the singles title, and Erin Routliffe and Aldila Sutjiadi reigned supreme in the doubles.
Sixth-seed Fernandez capped a dominant week in Singapore with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Talia Gibson, securing her sixth career title and second win at the WTA 500 level. This followed the doubles final, where Routliffe and Sutjiadi were crowned champions after overcoming a closely contested start against Tang Qianhui and Xu Yifan before taking control to secure a 6-3, 6-2 victory, their second doubles title together this year.

Fernandez said, “It was a great week of tennis, of fight, of grit and being able to cross that finish line to get that trophy makes it even sweeter. My best memory in every match this week would have to be the crowd – they gave me the extra energy to keep fighting. It's been a lot of hard work in finding that right balance of attacking and defending and today, everything clicked in the right place at the right time. Playing in Singapore has been an amazing experience and I can’t wait to come back to experience this level of love again.”
Routliffe and Sutjiadi said, “We’re lucky to be able to play together and build a partnership. It’s been amazing here at The Kallang with an amazing fan base. The Singapore Tennis Open is a great large-scale tournament and hopefully there will be more events such as this in the region. We have big goals and are so excited for the rest of the year.”
Bringing People Together Through Tennis
Tournament organiser The Kallang Group welcomed the Singapore Tennis Open back to The Kallang this year as a WTA 500 event, and more than doubled its 2025 attendance by drawing some 50,000 fans across the nine days of euphoric tennis action.
Apart from bringing world-class tennis to Singapore, the tournament created more experience avenues and player engagements. Across the precinct, the action was extended to the masses, from free qualifying draw matches to live screenings and engagements at the Fan Zone. Fans also connected with players through meet-and-greets, while over 900 students experienced the inner workings of an international professional tournament, and tennis enthusiasts took to the court with tournament Ambassadors at community tennis clinics. An activation truck also brought the tournament out of the precinct and into communities across Singapore. Additionally, the ACES Club offered a premium hospitality lounge with curated culinary experiences and baseline seats at Centre Court, adding another dimension to the tournament experience at The Kallang.
The Kallang Group also introduced new gateways for fans to access information. For the first time, The Kallang App featured a dedicated Singapore Tennis Open tournament hub, providing a one-stop platform for match information, activities, rewards and exclusive offerings.
Beyond the fan experience, The Kallang Group launched The Kallang Spotlight: Singapore Tennis Open presented by BNP Paribas – Powered by The Collective, to advance conversations that shape the future of sport. The forum brought together leaders, athletes and industry voices to exchange perspectives on leadership, world-class experiences and the continued growth of women’s sport.
Building the Future of Tennis in the Region
The week also focused on building pathways for the next generation, with the Kallang Tennis Hub hosting the World Tennis Asia 12 & Under Team Competition Finals and the Singapore Tennis Invitational Cup (STIC). Organised by the Singapore Tennis Association in partnership with The Kallang Group, STIC returned from 23 to 26 September, giving Singapore’s young athletes the chance to test themselves against the region’s best while gaining valuable exposure to world-class tennis.
After four days of nail-biting action, Singapore successfully defended its STIC championship with a 3-2 victory over Indonesia, in a repeat of the 2025 final. Malaysia took third place, seeing off Cambodia 3-1.
A New Chapter for the Singapore Tennis Open
The Singapore Tennis Open presented by BNP Paribas featured a 28-player Singles Draw and 16-team Doubles Draw, with players competing for a share of more than US$1.2 million in prize money. The tournament will return in 2027, building on the momentum of its first WTA 500 edition and continuing to bring world-class women’s tennis and memorable experiences to fans in Singapore and the region.
