NATIONAL STADIUM

Singapore’s National Stadium has become much more than a place of sports. It’s become the national centrepiece for the nation’s sporting, cultural, entertainment, lifestyle and national events. It’s also the spiritual home of the Lions, Singapore’s national football team, but also a leisure destination for spectators, tourists, photographers, and all those wanting to learn more about Singapore’s rich sporting history. With a maximum capacity of 55,000 people, a height of 310meters (the world’s largest freestanding dome) and all energy used offset by renewables, the stadium stands as one of Singapore’s architectural marvels.

The National Stadium has played host to some of the greatest events in Singapore’s sporting history like FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches, the 50th National Day Parade, 2014 World Rugby Club 10s, 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup, and the 2015 Southeast Asian Games.

Singapore National Stadium is nestled amongst an assortment of lifestyle, shopping entertainment options. For those wanting a bite to eat, there’s a bevy of bars and restaurants sporting local and international cuisines. Casual sports goers jog here. Professional athletes train here. Families relax and take in the sights here. Resting next to Sports Hub’s Water Sports Center, the National Stadium overlooks spectacular views of the city skyline.

You can easily reach Singapore National Stadium as it has its own MRT station (marked as ‘Stadium MRT’ on the Circle Line). Both Kallang MRT and Mountbatten MRT are walking distance, and there is also a taxi stand just outside.
