7 March 2016, SINGAPORE – The Singapore Legends will be returning to the National Stadium this Saturday, 12 March 2016, to take on the formidable Japanese Dragons in a curtain raiser ahead of the first Super Rugby game between the HITO-Communications Sunwolves and Toyota Cheetahs.

The legends were Singapore’s first national rugby team to play in the old National Stadium when they beat China 33-3 in a test match in 1997. The team is looking forward to a sweet homecoming when they play their first match in 18 years at the new National Stadium.

“This will be our first time playing at the new National Stadium and we are looking forward to playing in such an iconic venue on home soil,” said Clarence Lam, Singapore Legends team member.

Yamashita Koichiro, Captain of the Asian Japanese Dragons, echoed similar sentiments, “The Japanese Dragons have been training hard and a few of our members will be flying in specially for this game. We hope to see rugby fans and supporters at the National Stadium this Saturday!”
