Singapore, 26 March 2016 – The HITO-Communications Sunwolves today held a coaching clinic at the Farrer Park field for 30 children mainly from the Japanese Community in Singapore.

The children aged four to 12 had a range of experience, though most were first timers, and the Sunwolves players Derek Carpenter, Tim Bond, Takeshi Kizu, Hiwasa Atsushi and Ziun Gu taught them the basics of passing, penalty conversions and drop kicks.

9-year-old Kiyozaki Ogawa who was attending the clinic for the first time, said, “Rugby is really fun! I didn’t know much about it before but the clinic helped me learn more about the game, and I made many new friends too!”

Sunwolves player, Takeshi Kizu said, “This was a great experience for me. To know that you helped children learn new skills and inspire them is really special to see. The kids were excited and engaged throughout the entire clinic, and we really saw them improve in just the short amount of time.”

One of the latest additions to Super Rugby, the HITO-Communications Sunwolves are looking forward to an exciting match tonight when they take on South Africa’s Vodacom Bulls at the Singapore Sports Hub.

About the upcoming match:

The HITO-Communications Sunwolves and Toyota Cheetahs will go head to head this Saturday at 6.50pm. The curtain raiser game between the Singapore Legends vs Asian Japanese Dragons will begin at 5pm. Tickets are available at www.sportshub.com.sg.
