For the past three weeks, the National Stadium has taken on a different kind of energy.

Instead of waiting for the next big match or concert, the iconic venue has opened its doors for everyone to step in, get active, discover something new, and spend time together. From sports and fitness to family-friendly activities, gaming and live entertainment, the National Stadium Experience has turned into a space where there is always something to see, try or take part in.

And with one more weekend to go, there’s still time to be part of it.

A Space to Move, Play and Try Something New

Sport has been at the heart of the National Stadium Experience, with opportunities for visitors of all ages and abilities to get moving.

Across the past three weeks, families and young participants have explored different sports through Sports Tryouts, with activities ranging from virtual archery to foam blaster shooting. Track access has invited members of the public to step onto the iconic National Stadium track, where for a run, a walk or simply to take in the surroundings from a different perspective.

“The kids were so excited to be on the track. They just wanted to keep running around.”

That spirit of trying something new carried through the wider programme.

For young participants, the Teach a Child to Cycle Workshop turned the National Stadium into a place for first attempts and small milestones. With instructors guiding children through the basics, each wobble, pedal and push became part of the journey towards riding independently.

"It was really nice to see them gain confidence with every try. At first they were hesitant, but by the end they just wanted to keep going," one parent shared.

Moving Together

Muay Thai also found its place within the National Stadium Experience, bringing together sport, discipline, and tradition. From beginner-friendly tryouts that gave participants the chance to step into the sport for the first time, to the Youth and Adult Wai Kru Course, which offered a glimpse into the traditions and values behind Muay Thai.

The National Stadium has seen some of Singapore’s biggest sporting moments. On 12 September, AMC 13 — Fight for Hope added to that history as the first Muay Thai competition to be held at the National Stadium.

The competition brought together fighters, coaches, and fans for an afternoon of high-energy action, while shining a spotlight on the discipline, tradition, and community behind the sport. From the intensity of the bouts to the energy from the crowd, Fight for Hope offered visitors a different way to experience sport at the National Stadium – up close, personal, and in the heart of the action.

“It’s different when you’re exercising together with other people. You feed off the energy around you,” a runner taking advantage of the track access reflected.

For some, it has been a chance to get a workout somewhere memorable. For others, it has been a simple opportunity to experience a familiar landmark from a completely different vantage point.

“You normally come here to watch something. Being able to actually step onto the track makes you feel like you’re part of the stadium.”

There is no single way to experience it. Some visitors came ready to move, while others simply slowed down, took in the scale of the stadium and enjoyed having the space to themselves.

Where Play Meets Family Time

For families, the National Stadium Experience offered plenty of reasons to stay a little longer.

The Children Entrepreneurship Fair gave young entrepreneurs the opportunity to take centre stage, showcasing and selling their own creations while learning about communication, money, and running a business.

“It’s nice to see the children taking ownership of something. They’re learning. But they’re also having fun,” a parent added.

From the excitement of the Foam Blaster Game to the various sports and interactive activities across the National Stadium Experience, the emphasis was on getting involved rather than simply watching from the sidelines.

For many families, that was part of the appeal.

A Stadium Full of Different Communities

Over the past three weeks, the National Stadium Experience has also brought together communities united by different interests.

Gamers tested their reflexes at the Overclocked Fitness Gaming Challenge by SCOGA, collectors browsed and traded at the Collecta Fest TCG Card Show, while tennis fans could get into the spirit of the Singapore Tennis Open at The Rally.

“I didn’t expect to see this kind of gaming experience at the National Stadium. It’s completely different from what I’m used to seeing here.”

The AL!VE Artisan Market by Invade brought another dimension, bringing together local makers, food and lifestyle brands into the National Stadium and creating a space for visitors to browse, discover and linger.

And when the music started, the atmosphere shifted once again.

The KPOP Random Play Dance by Seoul Searching SG brought fans together on the National Stadium floor, turning the space into a lively dance floor as participants jumped in and out of action.

For those who preferred to wind down, Cinewav’s Movie Screenings offered a more relaxed way to spend an evening, with family and friends settling in beneath the National Stadium roof for a cozy movie night.

From collectors to K-pop fans, young entrepreneurs to sports enthusiasts, the past three weeks have shown that there is no single community that defines the National Stadium Experience.
