SUNWOLVES rugby player Ed Quirk posing for the camera at the apex of the roof
Singapore, 13 December 2016 – HITO-Communications SUNWOLVES player Ed Quirk today becomes the first sportsman to ascend the National Stadium roof since the opening of the Singapore Sports Hub in June 2014. The Australian rugby union player who plays as number eight for the SUNWOLVES was awed by the view from the top of the National Stadium.
“I was really excited when I was told that I will be doing a rooftop walk on the world’s largest free spanning dome. When I was finally up on the catwalk, the view of the Singapore’s skyline was breath-taking, and it was just simply amazing to be able to get a bird’s eye view of the pitch I played on previously and will be playing on in a few months’ time. I can’t wait to be back here again next year,” said Ed Quirk.
SUNWOLVES announced on 12 December 2016 their 2017 squad and new jerseys for the Super Rugby season next year, which includes Willem Britz who has played 23 caps in Super Rugby, Edward Quirk and Miyaki Mori who both had outstanding performance last year for SUNWOLVES (see Appendix A for SUNWOLVES squad and jersey). The 2017 team will be led by former All Blacks Filo Tiatia, who was also the forwards coach for the SUNWOLVES last season.
Super Rugby is the Southern Hemisphere's pre-eminent rugby tournament, featuring 18 teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and Japan. SUNWOLVES is the first Asian team in the expanded Super Rugby league and is co-based in both Japan and Singapore. In the upcoming 2017 Super Rugby matches, SUNWOLVES will be playing a total of 15 matches, with three out of seven of their home matches at the Singapore National Stadium – against the Kings (4 March 2017), the Stormers (25 March 2017) and the Sharks (20 May 2017).
Tickets for the 2017 Super Rugby matches in Singapore are priced from $30 onwards and can be purchased via the Sports Hub Tix website www.sportshubtix.sg, hotline +65 3158 7888, Sports Hub Tix Box Office at Singapore Indoor Stadium and all SingPost outlets (see Appendix B for ticketing information).

SUNWOLVES 2017 Jersey
SUNWOLVES will transform its new jersey for the upcoming 2017 season. This new jersey is designed by Mr. Mizuno Manabu (CEO of good design company) who also designed "Kumamon", the main mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture.
The new red and white home jersey has the Sun representing its home country of Japan, and SUNWOVES is the only team joining the Super Rugby championship. The new home jersey also represents the team itself, who fights against world top class rugby clubs.
On the other, the new black and white alternate jersey has the Moon which always comes together with wolves. The new alternate jersey emphasizes the cooperative and agile nature of the wolves.
