Singapore Sports Hub celebrates fifth anniversary with slate of virtual activities for the community

Singapore, 20 July 2020 – The Singapore Sports Hub is commemorating its fifth anniversary this July with a month-long virtual celebration that will culminate with the National Day Fiesta on 9 August.

Since its official opening by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 26 July 2015, the Singapore Sports Hub has hosted some of the world’s best sports teams, players, concerts, the 2015 SEA Games, the 2016 National Day Parade, ASEAN Para Games as well as members of the community in Singapore.

“The last five years marked many national milestones for the Singapore Sports Hub. While we look forward to welcoming everyone back, we are committed to support and keep the community engaged virtually in the meantime. Through the fifth anniversary and National Day celebrations, we hope to uplift spirits and galvanise the community to journey onwards and stronger together with us in the new normal,” said Lionel Yeo, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Sports Hub.

While it may still be some time before crowds can fully return, the Singapore Sports Hub is hoping to draw the community in with engaging content at www.sportshub.com.sg/Virtual-Play. The content includes Insta-filters, videos and games that will recreate the multifaceted experience of the hub and mark the celebrations. An interactive map of the Singapore Sports Hub will feature activities and content pieces for the community to learn, play and be entertained from the safety and comfort of their homes.
