SINGAPORE SPORTS HUB WIDENS ITS TICKETING PANEL

Media Advisory

Singapore, December 30, 2019 The Singapore Sports Hub’s vision when it opened its state-of-the-art, fully integrated sports, entertainment and lifestyle hub in June 2014 was to develop a programme, over time, to welcome everyone in Singapore to watch, play and support sports events and also to enjoy world class entertainment. Its comprehensive calendar of sports, entertainment and lifestyle events now has more than 225 events or more than 400 event days annually

In line with the new calendar year, SportsHub announced today that it has widened its ticketing operations to now include an extended panel of ticketing agents to address a growing calendar of international sports, entertainment and lifestyle events. The tender exercise commenced with an invitation to leading ticketing agents to send in their applications by 14 November 2019. The result of the tender has since been made known to the successful bidders to help them prepare for the transition of the ticketing operations

The new panel of ticketing agents comprising SISTIC, Ticketmaster and Ticketek will be operational progressively from 1 January 2020 onwards. Event promoters will henceforth be able to choose which of the three ticketing agents will be appointed to sell the tickets for their events. The appointed ticketing agent for each event will offer booking services for tickets made available through their respective websites, mobile, call centres, as well as retail outlets for those who prefer to buy their tickets in person. The simple and convenient process for booking a ticket begins with following the link from the SportsHub’s event page (www.sportshub.com.sg/events). To facilitate the transition, the current online ticketing will not be available between 11.59pm on 31 December 2019 to 3.59am on 1 January 2020. The SportsHub apologises for any inconvenience caused.

With the introduction of a widened panel of ticketing agents, the appointed ticketing agents will man the SportsHub’s central box office after 1 January 2020 onwards during the transition period. Eventually, the box office will be manned by the respective ticketing agent of each event and will operate only on event days

In our continued efforts to contribute to sustainability, we hope that our customers will join us in making a positive impact on the environment by transacting online opting for e-tickets. More information on how to purchase tickets through our new panel of ticketing agents will be available soon on sportshub.com.sg.

The management of Singapore Sports Hub would like to put on record its gratitude to its current ticketing agent, New Era Tickets Asia and its staff, who has been an important partner in managing the ticketing operations of SportsHub since its launch in 2014. All tickets purchased via SportsHubTix prior to 1 January 2020 for events in the new year, remain valid and will be honoured.
