Train service delays expected on Circle Line due to tunnel works

Patrons are advised to plan additional travel time of at least 30 mins or consider alternative transport options when travelling to The Kallang from 17 Jan to 19 Apr 2026. Circle Line (CCL) train services between Mountbatten and Paya Lebar stations will operate from one platform only, with a shuttle train serving this stretch.

The Singapore Sports Hub today announced that the second edition of Sports Hub Community Play Day will take place on 17 September 2016, where visitors can look forward to a slew of activities.

SPORTS HUB 1ST COMMUNITY PLAY DAY AT THE NATIONAL STADIUM

The 17 September event will feature a slew of activities including a bid to achieve 1,000,000 steps in Fun Stepper and the most number of participants in a Zumba workout

Singapore, 8 September 2016 – The Singapore Sports Hub today announced that the second edition of Sports Hub Community Play Day will take place on 17 September 2016, where visitors can look forward to a slew of activities including a bid to achieve the most number of participants in the Experience Sports Zumba Record-Breaking event as well as a million steps taken in the Sports Hub Community Fun Stepper. Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister for Social and Family Development, will officially kick-start the Experience Sports Zumba Record-Breaking Event. A turnout of more than 15,000 visitors throughout the day is expected.

The Sports Hub Community Play Day is a quarterly activity that promises a full day of play comprising of free sports try-outs, fitness workouts, fun competitions, kids activities and much more. It allows the public to play, discover and interact with the broad range of activities at the Hub, experience new sports, and strengthen family bonds through shared sports experiences.

“The iconic Singapore Sports Hub was built not only for world class events but it was also built to bring communities together from all walks of life. It’s a place for families and friends to have fun while participating in fitness and sporting activities strengthen family bonds through these shared sports experiences. In addition to our community programming such as Experience Sports Learn-to-Play sessions and daily Fitbit FIT-Sessions, the Sports Hub Community Play Day is another opportunity for us to engage the community and let them play, discover and interact with the broad range of activities at the Hub,” said Mr Oon Jin Teik, Chief Operating Officer, Singapore Sports Hub.

Besides the Experience Sports Zumba Record-Breaking Event and the Sports Hub Community Fun Stepper, other activities during the Sports Hub Community Play Day include the PAssion Children Football Carnival, a Family Fun Zone with inflatables, sports clinics and tryouts for speedminton, netball, frisbee, dodgeball and basketball, lifestyle flea market and kampong games.

Members of the public can also meet the Singapore Slingers, who is playing in the upcoming Merlion Cup at OCBC Arena from 21 to 25 September 2016, as they train at the National Stadium, as well as Lions coach V. Sundram Moorthy and some National Team players preparing for the upcoming Causeway Challenge at National Stadium on 7 October 2016, at the Sports Hub Community Play Day.

The Sports Hub Community Play Day is supported by Sport Singapore (Sport SG), People’s Association (PA), National Population and Talent Division (NPTD), Health Promotion Board (HPB), NTUC U Sports, Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and Singapore Slingers.
